Bought this for my 8 and 11 yr old boys. They love it and so do all their friends. The first day both boys fell off and got hurt (minor scraps and banged up). It's tricky to balance on the first time. For my 6 yr old we make her wear head gear and body pads/protection. The kids love it and the boys are now pros. I would just advice protection gear while they are learning....
